Lemons
I got given a big bag of big lemons recently
They were the juciest I have ever encountered
and I've squeezed some lemons in my time
What to do with a whole lot of lemons?
I know there are a million things I could have done.
I zested some
and froze the zest
lets not waste anything here
I made lemon meringue pie (minus the pastry base)
with my trusty KitchenAid whipping up the meringue in seconds!
I froze lemon juice
I also put a whole lemon in a bowl of water and microwaved it for 20 mins then wiped out my microwave, now that's lemony freshness!
Now I have fresh lemon juice in the freezer waiting for the next thai green curry, weetbix slice with lemon icing, or whatever needs that fresh hit of zesty flavour.
I heart lemons
and that is all.

I love how your lemons are heart shaped AND COOL IDEA MAKING THE MERINGUE pie without pastry (cuse my caps)
♥
NICE!
So very housewifey and domestic - i am inspired!
I didn't know you could freeze zest!
We have a lemon tree so this will be a very handy idea...
and GREAT to see you posting

I love Lemons too... I have LOADS of them cluttering up the trees too, so I might have to be all domesticated like you Anya and get zesting..and freezing and cleaning .. :) And I love doing a lemon and sugar foot soak... it's AWESOME!! :) xxx
