Eight

Today my first born turns 8

The day started off like all kids birthdays in our house with presents and lollies on our bed

Unlike last year PJ was very ok with his big brother receiving gifts and attention (it helps that his birthday is just around the corner)
Neo is playing with the wrapping paper and wrapped presents
Maisy is having a look too

The cake
8 candles
Simple chocolate cake with chocolate butter icing, green coconut grass, trash can and spilled mini m&ms and Trashies (the boys love collecting them, the little plastic toys)

Special drinks and popcorn

He got, along with other things, a new Pokemon game for his nintendo, which is a gift for him and me....... the gift of peace and quiet

Someone has his first teeth and is making good use of them

Little brother is 9 months old today

Little brother loves his crazy big brothers
he watches them from his high chair, giggling and entertained for ages

No party this year
just a lovely afternoon tea, and some trampoline fun
and quote "this is the best birthday ever, I love you Mum".

look Aunty Mel and Uncle Rich, the kazoo is in my hand

I love these boys
sooooo much
crazy, noisey, funny boys

I've noticed how much Levi leads the way in our household
his brothers copy his ways
and it's beautiful because he is beautiful

Happy birthday Levi
We love you and your amazing trampoline jumping skills!

I've yet to wear it out but I'm still alove'n it
ooooh......................alove'n Leona Edmiston's dresses full stop

Going in to this little man's room and being greeted like this after his sleep

Here's another look through a reflection in a dirty mirror

Easy dinner using left over mince

Tortilla Pie

This is yummy and so easy

When you make a batch of mince for dinner eg spaghetti bol, make a double lot, then the next night you can make Tortilla Pie, go on, I dare you!

All you need is:
left over mince (I sneak some grated carrot, peas and corn, finely chopped broccoli into my mince)
a pack or tortillas (I use about 6)
grated cheese for on top

All you do is:
layer the mince and tortillas like you would a lasagna
sprinkle a healthy handful of cheese on top and bake for half an hour or until cheese has melted and it's heated well through

Slice like a pie and serve with a fresh salad
Like I said.....yum and easy

So Christmas is over

Can someone tell that to my blog header then
I've been a bit too lazy busy to change it
Baby has been a bit unwell, but is better now thanks
PJ has started school
My twin nieces came to visit (their mother is a wolf and their father a lion) they are a bit cute arn't they. They've just started high school.....HIGH SCHOOL!!!!!! I remember when they were in nappies playing with stones in a bowl of water on my balconey in Sydney, oh me oh my time is moving away on me
The first day of school for the new year is always exciting
Perhaps a little more exciting for the Mum's than the kids!
Lisa came over before school and we walked our kids to school together
Then we went for a meeting coffee to celebrate talk about how clean our houses will be without the kids around all day

And then after school we made cake and cupcakes to share with the kids to again celebrate peace and quiet the start of the new year
Do you think we are a little too happy for our kids to be back at school?

During the school holidays my kids may or may not have done a fair bit of this (above) (see the baby.... teach em while they're young I say!) and I may or may not have eaten a little too much of this (below)
The baby also learnt how to move in the holidays
Proud mumma yes I am
Now instead of grizzling in one spot.....he can grizzle his way around the house
Thankfully he doesn't grizzle too much
His older brothers on the other hand, well lets just say they have Degrees in grizzling, yip, they specialize in it

So Christmas is well and truly over
I wonder when I will change my header?
I've had the same facebook photo up for nearly 4 years now so chances are it may still be there next Christmas!

I hope your 2012 has gotten off to a good start

Family visiting

We've had family visiting from London, Sydney and New Zealand for the past week and a half
We've done the usual tourist things like terrorising the local wildlife, bbq's, catching up over coffees, dinners out, swimming, it's been fantastic!
Cousins have been introduced for the first time
We went out most days making every second together count
 Hanging with family
There's been some crazy noisey times
like so many kids in the pool
and like dinner celebrating Ma and Pa Bartles 50th Wedding Anniversary
And now it's mostly over I'm sad, sad that we don't get to hang out like this that often,
sad that these cousins haven't meet sooner,
sad that work keeps us apart
sad that I wont hear this cheeky little monkey say my name for years
but also happy, so happy, fueled up on family time and laughs
